Edward has to put it lightly, the power of telepathy. That is to say, he hears as plainly as if it were spoken, the fleeting thoughts of all(with the exception of Bella) those around him.
Coven:Cullen
BEAUTY
Hair Color:Bronze
Eye Color:Vampire golden (black when famished)
Overall Appearance:
Edward is seen as absolutely perfect and looks 'god-like'. Being extremely handsome and even considered and angel. His skin is hard like marble and is ice-cold. He has dark circles under his eyes, almost as if he is always tired. Edward's eyes match his thirst, ranging from liquid gold when he isn't thirsty and to an onyx when his thirst gets stronger. In the sunlight, his skin shines like an infinite amount of diamonds, making little rainbows everywhere. His hair is of a bronze hue, and is always in a 'casual disarray'. Edward stands at the fairly tall height of 6'2" and even though his build would be described as slender, he is somewhat muscular as well.

First Impressions:
Most, upon meting Edward, or seeing him really, as he rarely talks to others outside of his family- and Bella, are overwhelmed by his beauty- which is comparable to portrayals of gods. His pale, flawless skin and his liquid-golden eyes are often enough to 'dazzle' others.
Personality:When danger is affront, Edward tends to prefer to keep Bella in the dark, over telling her what truly is going on. It’s a sure way for him to attempt to keep her out of harms way, but it seems to only intrigue her, and more often than not she finds her own way into the situation merely to answer the questions that Edward refuses too. He also tends to put of his feeding till the last possible moment, to avoid spending less time with Bella than is required.
Edward is a very complicated vampire. He tends to overreact easily, but has good intentions. He is a very deep thinker, and believes that he is an obstacle in the way of Bella Swan's life, only wishing to have her live out a normal life. He is not the happiest person himself - often calling himself a monster before naming any other adjective. His love for Bella runs deep and it is teaching him something that can never be learned in a textbook - love. He has almost constant mood swings; it just depends on the topic. Edward easily hides his emotions and the things he thinks away from her, believing that hiding things will be better then speaking them, He however gets frustrated very easily, especially when dealing with Bella, but this may be because he can't read her mind. Most of the time he is rather calm and seems like he doesn't care, but he's actually a loving person who cares a lot about the people close to him. He worries constantly over Bella's safety. Edward lives with the fact that his thirst for Bella's blood will constantly plague him and he'd rather live with this than see her turn into a vampire.
HISTORY
Life:
While Edward’s life in Chicago was happy, nothing really happened. His family was wealthy with his father being a Lawyer and he grew up a practically normal life where his mother’s only worry became the draft for World War I when the draft age was lowered to 18 in August of 1918. In September of 1918 the Spanish Influenza hit and took the lives of Edward’s mother and father. Elizabeth Masen knew that Carlisle Cullen, the tending physician had some sort of way to save her son and asked him to before she died. As a result Carlisle changed Edward.
Afterlife:
As a vampire, Edward attained the ability to read (or listen to, as Edward liked to call it) people's minds. But, mearly ten years after becoming a vampire, Edward rebelled against Carlisle's way of life and went in search of human's blood instead of animal's. Eventually guilt-ridden and coming to a realization that Carlisle was right, Edward came back. (It should be noted that Edward justified his acts as he only hunted criminals, and used his unique ability to find them.) He hasn't left the Cullen family since.
Two years after the family moved to Forks, Washington, Edward was attending a Biology class when he met Isabella (Bella) Swan. He was frustrated that she is the only mind that he could read. While sitting in the class, Edward was overwhelmed by her scent and tried his very hardest to not even acknowledge her so that he could keep his control.
Eventually, Edward could stay away from Bella, and saved her life from Tyler Crowley's van being out of control and almost hitting her. Weeks later, Edward ultimately gave in and became Bella's friend, sitting with her in the cafeteria and chatting. After Bella realized that Edward and his family were all vampires, he was suprised that she wasn't repulsed by it, but she accepted that his family may kill her by their thirst.
While spending alot of time together and with Edward's protectiveness of Bella, they soon fell in love and were rarely seen apart. But, Edward's thoughts of accidentally killing Bella with his thirst and the fact that Jasper nearly killed her at her birthday party overwhelm him , and he left her alone in Forks. After a strong misjudgement, Edward found out that Bella 'killed herself' and he was thoroughly convinced that it was his fault that she did it. Because Bella in fact didn't kill herself, she traveled with Alice to go and save him from his fate with the Volturi.
Coven Info:
DR.CARLISLE CULLEN-
Carlisle is Edward's 'father' since 1918, his inspiration, and an object of his fascination and curiosity ( or at least the way he manages to balance his life as a doctor, and his non-life as a parasitic humanoid perfectly, and without any mistakes. Edward had in the past rebelled against Carlisle and his ways, and gone his own way for a short while, but decided to resume living the way Carlisle had shown him, without consuming human blood.
MARY ALICE BRANDON-CULLEN -
"Alice. Well... there are a few things I'll keep to myself, and a few things I could share. But I will say, although she is possibly more annoying than a... mosquito- scratch that- she often is more annoying than a mosquito, with the constant buzzing around, the butting in where she ought not to, and the amazingly hyper demeanor, but either way, she's my sister- well not really, obviously, but as good as. And I love her fiercely, mosquito-like tendencies and all."
EMMETT MCCARTY-CULLEN -
Emmett is the youthful, large and muscular goofball of the family, and Edward enjoys spending time with him, be it hunting, trailing along (with Jasper as well) on one of the girls' shopping trips and..holding the bags, or just playing XBox-and winning- with him, a good time is always guaranteed. What Edward does not appreciate is Emmett's constant teasing of his clumsy Bella... but he still loves Emmett to pieces.
JASPER WHITLOCK-HALE -
Edward's other 'brother'. Edward finds his gift quite helpful when his temper is tested, or when Bella is especially stubborn...
ROSALIE HALE-
"I have not much to say about Rosalie. Not much good, anyway... well, at least she supports me in my "Bella stays HUMAN" cause but.... I mean, she told me Bella died. I'm not too pleased with her right now."
ESME ANN PLATT-CULLEN -
Esme is Edward's 'mother', and serves as the same for all the Cullens (except for Carlisle, to whom she is wed, of course.) Edward respects her, loves her, and admires her sweet nature, and ability to look at anything and force others to see the bright side, and also her seemingly endless capacity to love all those surrounding her, be they friend or foe.
ISABELLA "Bella" SWAN-
Bella. The love of his life, the reason for his existence, the person who keeps him sane and grounded. Bella is Edward's soon-to-be wife. The relationship between she and he is quite deep, too much so to be explained with anything less than the words similar to 'destiny,' 'fate,' and 'star-crossed.' The love and devotion he feels toward the human girl is infinite, and in the several months he had departed from her for, he had found it difficult to live. His own personal dark ages, in fact. Even worse was when he had lived for a full twenty-four hours thinking his precious Bella was dead. Though he often refuses her constant attempts to undermine his rapidly decreasing self-control, he wishes he could do such things ith her, and that he could be sefish enough to make her one of his kind.

Example2:
Edward smiled to himself as he held the now-sleeping form of Bella in his arms. He hummed her lullaby still, though softly, and more to himself than to her. To watch her sleep was bliss. Her stubbornness and fight was all gone and her lovely face calm and serene at night. And he had a way to figure out what she was thinking about at night. Though it was often a little irksome that he could hear all thoughts but hers, he felt a little guilty that he could listen to her sleep talk. After he finished the last few notes of the song he had written specially for her, there was a deep silence, and for the longest time (almost an hour or so) he was content to just stare out the window and listen to her heart beat. He would miss it, once she was one of the eternal damned. He'd also miss the way she mumbled his name in her sleep. Once she was turned, there'd be no more sleep for his darling Bella. No more mumbling, and no more way into her mind... he sighed heavily at the thought. This was part of the reason he'd refused to have her change, but nowhere near the whole of it.
He furrowed his brow as she mentioned not only his name, (he of course smiled at that lightly)but also the name of his rival for her heart- the name of the werewolf, Jacob Black. Had she really made the right choice? She had cried a fair bit since making her decision, even if it was only for that one night. But he'd never seen her so upset, and honestly, it had him second guessing whether he was good for her. Not that he didn't question that every single time she got into danger, anyway. But, he reminded himself, Jacob Black was an irritable teenaged werewolf. So dangerous! And he was still fighting for her, too. Up until her heart stops beating, he'd said. He was pulled out of these troublesome thoughts as Bella's voice sounded.
"Edward?"
Her voice sounded clearer than her usual night talk, and he couldn't tell if she was awake. He simply spoke softly to her. "Yes, darling, I'm here. Hush now, love, go back to sleep." he said gently. He stroked her dark hair absent-mindedly, and began to hum her lullaby again. Edward pulled her sleeping form closer to his chilled chest and cradled her to him. He smiled as she reassumed her garbled mumbling. Jacob Black would never get to hear this- to experience this. Jacob Black didn't have Bella wanting to be a werewolf so she could spend eternity with him. But it was troublesome that she did want to join Edward as a vampire for eternity. She wanted him to change her. To risk her soul! How could she ask him to risk her fragile, gentle soul? But he wanted it too. The selfish part of him would change her right then and there, the first time she asked him, the very second the idea that had formulated in her mind came to her lovely, full lips. He wanted her forever, wanted Bella to be his forever. All his. And time would stand still for them, and everyone would age around them while they stayed young and beautiful forever. And forever in love. The vision that he pivtured about he and Bella's future was so endearing. But so horrible, so awful. Edward was so sure vampires lost their souls when changed. So postive that he was forever barred from the golden gates of Heaven, and doomed to Hell, when and if he ever died.
Not only was he risking her soul, he was risking her life. It would be so easy to make a mistake that would cost him his love. His Bella. If that happened... he wouldn't even bother asking the Volturi, he'd just lift a car or something like that. Force their hands before they had the chace to offer him a place with them again. He'd not go another century without Bella. He'd not go another year without her even. She/, and she alone held his heart. "My darling, why must you put me through so much?" he murmured softly into her ear, and moving his nose down to the hollow of her throat, indulging in her lovely, floral scent.

Example1:
Alec flipped another page of the book he was reading and skimmed over it, barely absorbing any of its contents. He pouted in extreme unhappiness, as his eyes ran over the same sentence several times. A completely irrelevant sentence ran through his mind.
"I understand you were too much of a coward to protect your sister, but I will not stand idly by as Marcus toys with mine for amusement!"
The cruelly spoken words had been running through his distraught mind for over a week; since miss Lucy Westenra had thrown them at him. All of it was true. Alec had been- in his eyes- much too cowardly to protect is twin-sister Jane. A glistening tear rolled down the small boy's chilled cheek, though he hastily wiped it away. He couldn't stop the muffled sob from escaping, as he thought of his human life, and his cowardice. Alec had failed Jane; completely and utterly. How then, was it possible that she still was overjoyed each and every time he had the fortune to meet her in the halls? How could she possibly love him as he knew she did? Why did Jane adore him so, after he had failed her as a brother, and as a protector- as Lucy had pointed out- so miserably? To Jane, it seemed Allen was a better brother than he was, and had been in the past. He couldn't even dream of being what Amadeo was to Alec- it had only been after a day or so of trying to coax Alec out of the library, that his 'big brother' had given up, and let him be. But the vampire child didn't want comforting any more. He'd much rather be left alone, to lose himself just for a while among the books.
He tossed the irrelevant novel from him and gripped his torso, holding himself together as he went to pieces again. From his chest ripped a heartbroken sob, and the boy's sharp teeth dug into his bottom lip as he tried to hold back tears. Boys don't cry! he thought to himself fervently. A droplet of blood formed under his teeth, and the boy spat it out, knowing from literature in this library that to drink the blood of a vampire, even his own, could prove toxic. Alec heaved another choked sob,. Lucy had turned on him; after the child had attempted to show kindness, no less. Her next words hadn't been aimed at the two she was angry at to begin with- Marcus and Amadeo, but rather, aimed straight at his unbeating heart.
Alec heard the soft pitter patter of rain on the windows of the library, but paid no attention. It had rained a lot in the past few days- not at all typical of an Italian October. The words replayed themselves in his head again, which brought on another round of hysteria. The boy figured he most likely would not be rewarded an apology from Lucy. Even though he usually would have shrugged it off by now, had it been from someone like Caius or Marcus. Perhaps it was because Alec had been under the impression that the blond anarchist was a friend. Hadn't they danced together?
As he heard footsteps approach the closed and locked door, Alec relocated himself to the very back of the library. "Leave me alone..." he grumbled. He didn't want anyone's comforting right now- he just wanted to bask in his misery alone. It wasn't so much that he wanted to be unhappy, as, more that he didn't want to be bothered. He just wanted to be alone a little while longer. A few days perhaps? He threw a well aimed book at the double door and repeated, "Go away!" sighing unhappily as the door clicked open. He edged out of sight and stayed quiet, hoping not to be found by whoever had just entered the library to intrude on his melancholic thoughts. Because he was a child, self-pity wasn't something so wrong. He listened quietly, stopping the flow of oxygen to his useless lungs. Alec hoped they hadn't come to bother him again. He wished he could have done more than simply put a bar through the handles of the doors. An actual lock would have been nice, so as to preserve his privacy. Just another few days in his self imposed solitary confinement. Why was that so much to ask of his fellow Volturi inhabitants, as well as the two anarchists. The two blonds he'd rather see dead than in the room with him now. He groaned and ordered again in a cracking voice, "Let me be... please." he said. Alec drew in a breath and stopped himself from shaking in anger as he finally saw who had had the audacity and nerve to enter the library to find him. The boy spit in her direction and turned to face the wall.

He'd not go another century without Bella. He'd not go another year without her even. She/, and she alone held his heart. "My darling, why must you put me through so much?" he murmured softly into her ear, and moving his nose down to the hollow of her throat, indulging in her lovely, floral scent.
