Lyra ran like a speeding bullet, through the forest she was passing through, on her way back to her home. She had been sent north to sort a small clan of vampires that had been feeding just a bit too freely in the local towns. However they where now taken care of, or at least warned if they continue their existence would be ended, and she was heading back home. It had been a simple job and not at all interesting, however Lyra had still jumped at the chance of an outing, even if she had to go with two of the most incompetent fools that ever graced the Volturi guard. Now however she had left them behind, out-running them with not a lot of effort.
Slowing to a jog as she emerged out of the forest, Lyra began to run up the hill to the city and her home as the sun set behind the trees she had just run through. Smirking lightly as she ran, Lyra was glad to see her power was still working order, for during the long run she had increased the probability of her making it back to Volturi before the sun had set, which she had. For climbed the town walls in the blink of an eye and hopped onto a near-by rooftop. The sun disappeared behind the horizon, sending the town into another night.
Leaping lightly from roof to roof, heading for the center of the town she took a few risks. Leaping greater and more daring distances, Lyra took in her stride. As she increasing the probability that she would make it, and decreased the chance that she would get caught. For getting caught doing anything that could be considered in-human, in this town, was like asking for a death wish. They did often get suicidal vampires, planning it, however they where always ripped to shreds before they even got a chance. So as she leapt the last few rooftops, and dropped down into a small deserted ally-way Lyra paid extra attention to stay undetected, for ending her life was not an option to her. For unlike most vampires, Lyra was happy with her lot, because being thought of being human again just bored her.
Crossing the alley way, Lyra slipped through the side-door, not wanting to head on the main-streets for human crowds where not for her. Moving with grace through the tunnels, up a couple of staircases, and into the main reception of the headquarters she smiled politely at the receptionist. Lyra really did pity these girls; their hope to get changed was far too obvious. Though Lyra knew the chances of them getting changed was very unlikely, and if she liked them she did often boost their chances a little, but she did not like to mess with her master’s decision. She had far too much respect for them, for giving her this home, so in-turn she respected their decisions. So as she passed her, Lyra merely smiled, and disappeared off into the rest of the manor.
